It has been four years
The hardest thing is moving on.
Life is a flower, forever blooming. Although our petals may fall and hearts may falter. Your memory lives, thrives, and goes on forever with us.
A son, child, friend, student, a life…
When I first heard, I didnt want to believe it.
I prayed so hard, wished, and hoped it wasnt him.
Yet, my fears were finally confirmed.
I think the hardest was remembering all the times we did spend with him.
Remembering the times we talked on AIM,
or saw him, hung out with him…
The small things that made him, him.
He volunteered to eat earthworms with me,
not only that, he was extremely excited.
We were supposed to eat them yesterday…afterschool.
The plans were canceled.
We talked about how he was going to ask someone to prom,
Asking me to back off his girlfriend.
Joking, laughing, and talking about anything….
As I look back, there were so many open oppurtunities for anyone to step in.
For someone to say,
hey,
how are you doing? please talk to me.
We all tried, maybe just not quite as much as we liked.
He was an amazing guy.
Caring, nice, a beast at blockles, loving, smart…you name it.
His face continuously pops in my mind,
his smile and the times where he would laugh.
We recollect on his lose,
but try to smile as you remember those good times.
The first time you met,
first time you guys hung out, talked…
Those are the memories worth holding onto.
We take so much for granted.
And never truly understand the value of someone..
until we no longer have them here with us..
He left, without so much as a goodbye.
But in spirit and memory he’ll always stay.
As a flower fades and petals fall,
It releases its pollen,
releases its seeds into the wind,
leaving a mark behind on the world
before it truly falls…
As we stop by the railroads these next few days,
remember what each flower stands for.
His memory,
those times we spent together
before he left,
will be with us.
Forever.
and ever…
in our soul,
in our minds,
in our hearts.
His death is not what should make him known.
But the person he was.
He deserves all the respect in the world.
Rest in Peace. May 5, 2009.
